The Quinn’s Daily Spinn: Wednesday, Sept. 11

With Underground Music Collective’s first-ever Underground Writers Round fast approaching, we thought we’d start dedicating some of these Daily Spinn features to the six songwriters set to accompany us on our maiden voyage.
So, let’s feature Savannah, who is ready to bring us some alt-rock edge to Nashville’s storied Douglas Corner Cafe on September 27. She just released her debut single, “Snake in the Grass,” and a listen will clue you in as to why we’re excited to welcome her into the fold.
The single’s radio-friendly song structure is sure to appeal to an array of listeners right off the bat. However, it is the grit brought forth by its beefy guitar work and witchy ambiance that will enchant them into staying a while. The hypnotizing feeling of “Snake in the Grass” is enhanced by Savannah’s uniquely haunting vocal tone, which delivers the pointed angst of post-grunge with the technique and soul of a jazz singer.
In our estimation, this is one of the most intriguing first looks we’ve seen all year. See — or better yet, hear — for yourself, now and at Douglas Corner on September 27.
