The Quinn’s Daily Spinn: Friday, October 4

Last night, we had the pleasure of celebrating the release of Confessional, the new album from Nashville alt-pop artist (and September Quinn Spinn guest) Talia Stewart.

In the process, we became re-acquainted with the scorching hot guitar of one Sam Johnston.

We first encountered Sam at The Basement back in May, when he opened for Cris Jacobs. On Thursday night, he was the direct support for Stewart, and let us tell you: his performance was every bit as emotive and expressive last night as it was back then.

A standout tune of a Sam Johnston performance is always “Postcards,” which Johnston himself refers to as the “sad song” in his set. A heartfelt and wistful tune about a long-distance relationship, it delivers the palpable punch that can only be felt from missing the one you love.

Listen to “Postcards” below, and keep an eye out for photos from last night, which are coming your way this weekend.
