If our modern reality is absurd, then an absurdist music video that points out its absurdity is as real as it gets.

OK… so, maybe we won’t see multiple Brian Dunne clones walking around anytime soon, but the New Yorker’s latest single “Nothing Matters Anymore” and its accompanying video tackles mounting issues in post-truth America with a dark sense of humor, backed by swaggering, heartland rock instrumentation.

“‘Nothing Matters Anymore’ is a mushroom trip through our current reality, which feels far stranger than fiction,” explains Dunne. “I wrote the song in a frenzy at my kitchen table, and it takes on just about every issue I could conceive of. We wanted the video to mirror the absurdity of these times, and it is truly the most insane thing I have ever been a part of.”

The single was produced by Dunne’s longtime friend Andrew Sarlo, and is another preview of the pair’s collaborative effort on Dunne’s forthcoming album, set for release in 2020.
