Trevor Larkin is perhaps best known for his work as the guitarist for soul singer-songwriter Allen Stone.

What you should also know is that Larkin fronts his own rock band here in Nashville. That band is Climb The Sky, and its music plays great homage to the stalwarts of melodic rock and roll, while exploring the range of emotions we experience in our shared human experience.

Made complete by brothers and bandmates Gabe Klein (accordion) and Gideon Klein (double bass), Climb The Sky has just released its first single of 2020 titled, “Wake Up With The Sun.” Larkin’s intricate acoustic guitar work on this live arrangement is exquisite in its tone and precision, beckoning us to approach a new day with courage.

This fits the lyrical narrative well. “Wake Up With The Sun” reassures us of the promise of each sunrise, regardless of where we stood the night before. With his comforting demeanor, Larkin encourages us to approach life unafraid of the punches that may come our way, even memorably chiming in at one point with, “I swear, you are not in any danger.”
