The Quinn’s Daily Spinn: Wednesday, April 22

The nostalgia in Lauren Jaimes‘ music is evocative of some of country western’s brightest stars. The Berklee College of Music grad draws her inspiration from luminaries like Kacey Musgraves, Johnny Cash, and John Denver.
She shines as just as brightly in her debut music video for her new single, “Home Is Where You Are.”
The single’s bubbly nature and folk simplicity provide the perfect backdrop to allow listeners to kick back and reflect on the goodness in their own lives. “Home Is Where You Are” opens with a memorable, melodic harmonica line. This leads us into a touching narrative, where Jaimes sings about having everything she needs — not in material possessions, but in kindred spirits.
The video, shown below, was directed in one shot by Forrest Weber in Brooklyn, NY. It’s been making the rounds, with a feature on Vevo’s “True Country” playlist alongside the likes of Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, and Ashley McBryde.
As you’ll see and hear with our Daily Spinn, she fits right in among those names. Take a look!
