With ‘Periscope,’ Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville Offers Entrepreneur Training for Artists

Here at Underground Music Collective, we’re big proponents of well-rounded artist education, so that the folks in our community can get the most out of their careers and dreams.

As it turns out, so is the Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville — and they have a program dedicated to helping artists in our region maximize their potential!

The Arts & Business Council is currently accepting artist applications for its Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training program. The Periscope program is led by expert advisors from the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, and features break-out sessions facilitated by some of Nashville’s top arts professionals. The eight-week program is designed to help launch or expand their creative businesses by providing:

  • Training: Eight weeks of professional development training for working artists.
  • Exchange: Artists share best practices with interdisciplinary peers through small group work.
  • Mentorship: Each artist is paired one-on-one with a high-caliber mentor.
  • Exposure: Year-round opportunities to celebrate the work of alumni artists, plus red-letter visibility at the culminating celebration, the Periscope Pitch + Artist Entrepreneur Showcase.

Applications for the Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training program are due by Thursday, February 11 at noon CT. Accepted applicants will attend the eight-week program on Thursday mornings from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. beginning on Thursday, March 25. The program will be held virtually, in-person, or in hybrid format, depending on the most current public health guidelines in the Greater Nashville region.
